Principle The Siemens ADVIA 1800 assay is an enzymatic creatininase method. The calibration is traceable to SRM967 and correlated with the NIST LC-IDMS method.
Interpretation Urinary creatinine is necessary in the determination of creatinine clearance as a measure of renal tubular function. Urinary creatinine may be decreased in polymyositis and muscular dystrophy (urine creatine is increased). Some drugs may alter urine creatinine.

Collection Instructions Urine: Refrigerate urine during collection.
