Principle The analysis is based on a urease-catalyzed hydrolysis of urea to ammonia and carbon dioxide.
Interpretation Determined for calculating urea clearance. Relatively decreased urea excretion is seen in most renal failure states and pre-renal azotemia.
Collection Instructions 5 mL, spot or 24-hr collection

Refrigerate urine during collection. Use no preservative.

Stability 4 days at 2-8°C.
