Collection Instructions Specimen for Sperm Analysis: Freshly ejaculated semen collected in a clean container (preferably urine cup from the clinic). Date and time of collection must be recorded on the requisition. The specimen must be delivered to the laboratory within 1 hour of collection. The semen specimen should be collected after 3-7 days of abstinence.

Specimen from Post-Vasectomy Patients: Freshly ejaculated semen collected in a clean container (preferably urine cup from the clinic). Date and time of collection must be recorded on the requisition. The specimen must be delivered to the laboratory the same day as collection.
