The Research Pathology Core facility is a part of the Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center and is located in the Laboratory of Radiobiology room 309 at the UCSF Parnassus Campus. The mission of the Research Pathology Core is to provide histologic and hematopoietic research support services to investigators from UCSF, affiliated Universities, and other institutions in studying animal models of cancer and other diseases. To this end the core operates and maintains several Leica Microtomes for paraffin embedded sample sectioning, two Leica Cryostats for frozen OCT embedded sample sectioning, a Leica Autostainer, a Tissue Tek Tissue Processor, and a Drew Hemovet. Our friendly and skilled staff is available from 9am -5pm Monday through Friday to accept samples, answer questions, and help with equipment use.
