Method Microscopic examination of thick and thin Giemsa stained smears
Collection Instructions Samples should be taken during bouts of fever as spirochetes are most likely to be present. Call Microbiology (x3-1268) and inform the staff of the need to look for the spirochetes of B. duttoni or B. recurrentis.

Request test on the Microbiology requisition.
