| Patient Preparation | Any pancreatic enzyme supplements should be discontinued for 5 days before testing of an adult, for 1 day in a child with cystic fibrosis. An 8 hour fast before specimen collection is preferred. |
| Collection Instructions | The patient should be given Bentiromide after an overnight fast (500 mg for an adult or 14 mg/kg for a child) and the urine collected for the next 6 hours. Refrigerate container during collection. |
