Additional information This test is only orderable by the Microbiology staff.

Routinely performed using a concentration of 6 mg/L of nafcillin versus Staphylococcus aureus which appear marginally susceptible (MIC of 2-4 mg/L), to confirm that the organism is truly susceptible. Also performed using a concentration of 6 mg/L of vancomycin on isolates of enterococci.
