Additional information This test is only orderable by the Microbiology staff.

Performed as a preliminary result on gram-negative rods from positive blood cultures. Also performed routinely on:

1. Streptococcus pneumoniae (pneumococci) from respiratory sites versus penicillin G, erythromycin, tetracycline and levofloxacin. MICs to these same antibiotics as well as to others, including cefotaxime, ceftriaxone and vancomycin are also available.

2. Mucoid strains of Ps. aeruginosa from patients with cystic fibrosis.,

3. H. influenzae and N. gonorrhoeae by consultation.
