| Collection Instructions | The tick recovered from the bitten patient should be wrapped in moist gauze or paper towel and sealed in a plastic bag or lidded jar so that it cannot dry out (drying destroys the antigens). The tick is mailed in a container approved for biological materials to: Sonoma Public Health Laboratory, 3313 Chanate Road, Rm. 214, Santa Rosa, CA 95404 707-565-4711. |
