| Additional information | Scleroderma may be localized or diffuse [Progressive Systemic Sclerosis (PSS)] that may involve skin, gastrointestinal tracts, lungs, vascular and cardiac systems, and kidneys. PM-1 (PM-Scl) Antibody is present in approximately one-fourth of patients with the polymyositis/scleroderma overlap syndrome, 8% of patients with polymyositis alone and 2-5% of patients with scleroderma alone. Patients who have PM-1 Antibody have a better prognosis than patients with scleroderma. |
