| Additional information | Provides prognostic information for patients who have B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Patients with mutated IgH variable gene region required minimal or no chemotherapy and had prolonged survival. Patients with unmutated IgH variable gene region responded poorly to continuous multi-regimen chemotherapy and shorter survival. The delineation of mutation status is based on the degree of homology to the germline sequence. A 97% homology cut-off was found to provide a good discrimination. | ||||
