March 2013Dr. David Solomon is the proud recipient of the 2013 Stowell-Orbison Award. This award is given to four trainees of Pathology at the annual United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP) Annual Meeting (Mar 2-8, 2013) who present the best paper through the medium of a poster presentation. This accomplishment was no small feat. Not only did Dr. Solomon compete among a field of over 250 poster presenters, many presenters were from around the globe. He is also the very first recipient of this award from UCSF. |
March 2013Dr. Benjamin Buelow is the recipient of the Pathologist-in-Training Award for Hematopathology. The Society of Hematopathology issues the Pathologist-in-Training Award for the best abstract submission in the field of Hematopathology. The Award committee narrows down the applicants and visits with each semi-finalist’s poster presentation at the annual United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP) conference (Mar 2-8, 1013). |
March 2013Dr. Gabrielle Rizzuto is the recipient of the 2013 Society for Pediatric Pathology’s Young Investigator Research Grant. The Society awards this grant to fund research in the field of pediatric pathology. Dr. Rizzuto’s proposal is on “Immune response to infection at the maternal-fetal interface.” Proposals are reviewed and the winner is selected at their spring conference which takes place the same time as the US and Canadian Academy of Pathology Annual Meeting (Mar 2-8, 2013). |
