Objectives

To present the audience a hands-on experience in diagnostic problems in everyday cytopathology practice and an update on recent developments in the use of special techniques in cytopathology. At the end of the cytopathology course, the learner will be able to identify common and uncommon problem areas in Pulmonary, Body Fluid, Thyroid, and Squamous Head and Neck cytopathology practice, recognize potential pitfalls, develop a differential diagnosis, understand the use of ancillary immunohistochemical and molecular studies, and identify the practical
benefit of special techniques to aid in cytological diagnosis of challenging neoplastic and non-neoplastic lesions in these areas.



At the end of the cytopathology course, the learner will be able to identify common problem areas in cytopathology practice, recognize potential pitfalls and develop a differential diagnosis and a management plan. The learner will be able to identify the practical benefit of special techniques
