Overview
The Departments of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine provide comprehensive laboratory testing and tissue diagnostic services in Hematology/Hematopathology. The Hematology Laboratory performs approximately 500,000 diagnostic tests a year, including routine and specialized testing in general hematology and coagulation. Hematopathology services include review of bone marrows, lymph nodes, and other lymphoid tissues, including those obtained by surgical excision as well as fine needle aspirate (FNA). Ancillary studies, such as flow cytometry and molecular testing, are available to support diagnostic interpretation. Faculty providing services include 8 full-time and part-time board-certified Hematopathologists.
