Genitourinary Pathology Fellowship

Description: The Genitourinary Pathology Fellowship is a one-year program
geared towards advanced study in diagnostic surgical pathology with emphasis in
bladder, prostate, kidney, testicular and penile pathology. The fellow will be
grossing and supervise residents grossing, preview in-house and consult cases
before sign-out with the faculty, take an active role in intraoperative
consultations and be primarily responsible for clinical-pathological
conferences and tumor boards. In addition to urologic pathology, the fellow
will have clinical rotations in urology, radiation-oncology, and medical
oncology clinics and in Cytogenetics/Molecular Biology accounting for a total
of 1 month of training. Research involvement is strongly encouraged with the
goal to submit at least one manuscript during the year of training.

Requirements: Applicant must be Board eligible or certified in
Anatomic/Clinical Pathology or Anatomic Pathology.

Facilities: We diagnose specimens from three primary hospitals (University of
Miami Hospital, Jackson Memorial Hospital, and Sylvester Cancer Center and
satellites. Approximately 2,500 urologic specimens interpreted per year.

Stipends / Funds: Commensurate with the applicants year of postgraduate
training. Discretionally academic fund is available.

Team: Our team is composed of multidisciplinary specialists with senior members
recognized locally and nationally, and junior members with the strong in-house
training and in other reputable institutions.
Urologic pathologists: Richard J. Cote, Merc Jord (director), Oleksandr N.
Kryvenko.
