Academic Dermatopathologist - Brigham and Womens Hospital
BRIGHAM AND WOMENS HOSPITAL
ACADEMIC DERMATOPATHOLOGIST
The Department of Pathology at Brigham and Womens Hospital, a principal
teaching affiliate of the Harvard Medical School, is seeking a Board-certified
dermatopathologist to join an expanding academic Dermatopathology Service under
the leadership of Dr. George Murphy. Applicants should have a strong record of
training and experience in diagnostic dermatopathology in an academic setting,
and the ability to conduct an independent or collaborative
clinical/translational research program in dermatopathology. The environment
also provides substantial opportunities for more basic research. Brigham and
Womens Hospital participates in the Joint Harvard Dermatopathology Fellowship
Training Program. The BWH Department of Pathology, which is staffed by more
than 100 faculty and more than 55 residents and clinical fellows, handles
approximately 75,000 surgical specimens annually, including approximately
10,000 skin biopsies, and is responsible for provision of pathology services at
the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where there are also ample opportunities for
multidisciplinary collaboration. Applicants should be committed to excellent
patient care, as well as research, scholarship and effective teaching.
Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and
accomplishments.
