Hemepath Fellowship - Methodist U. Hospital & St. Judes Children Research Hospital

Hematopathology Fellowship Information

Program Description:

The 1-year ACGME-accredited fellowship offered by the Department of
Pathology starts July 1. The fellow would rotate at the 670-bed
Methodist University Hospital and the world famous St. Jude Children's
Research Hospital, allowing very wholesome training in all aspects of
adult and pediatric Hematopathology.The training emphasizes graduated
responsibility and aims to produce a life-long learner with expertise in
Hematopathology. There exist ample opportunities to develop expertise in
bone marrow and lymph node pathology, peripheral smears, coagulation,
red cell enzymatic disorders, flowcytometry, immunohistochemistry and
conventional and molecular cytogenetics, with a generous case-load and
under the supervision of highly trained and experienced
Hematopathologists and Molecular Geneticist. The fellow would interact
with residents and technologists and clinicians in a close collaborative
setting. There would be opportunities to participate in clinical and
basic research studies, residency-related conferences and adult and
pediatric Hematopathology tumor boards and Coagulation meetings. Memphis
is a mid-sized city with a temperate climate and a low cost of living.

Requirements: Board eligibility or certification in AP and CP.

Stipends: Commensurate with the level of training (PGY5/6).
