Academic AP Faculty Positions - Weill Cornell Medical College
ACADEMIC ANATOMIC PATHOLOGY FACULTY POSITIONS Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Weill Cornell Medical College and New York-Presbyterian Hospital The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine of the Weill Cornell Medical College is seeking six academic anatomic pathology faculty members for full-time appointments. Candidates of any academic rank or faculty track with expertise in gastrointestinal pathology, pulmonary pathology, urologic pathology, cytopathology, autopsy pathology or other surgical pathology subspecialties are encouraged to apply. The 30 faculty of the Anatomic Pathology Division provide anatomic pathology services for the tertiary care practices of New York-Presbyterian Hospital - Weill Cornell Medical Center, as well as for a large urban reference laboratory network, currently with an annual volume of 60,000 surgical specimens, 125 post-mortem examinations, 49,000 cytological specimens, and 3,500 fine needle aspirations. The successful candidates will be expected to participate in their subspecialty area of practice, develop or continue an academic program of research and teaching, and potentially assume administrative responsibilities within the department. Departmental Core Facilities are available to faculty for clinical research projects or for generation of preliminary results for external funding applications. Broader clinical and basic research collaborations are available with faculty within the Department, as well as with faculty from other departments of Weill Cornell Medical College and from our neighboring institutions, Rockefeller University and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Established diagnostic expertise in an area of subspecialization, a record of scholarly publications and experience in translational research is highly desirable. Board certification in anatomic pathology and eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in New York State is required. Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with the level of experience and scholarly accomplishments.
