Map and Directions

We are located in the heart of San Francisco with our main facility at 1600 Divisadero St., between Sutter and Post streets, about two-and-a-half miles from UCSF Medical Center at Parnassus.

Mount Zion Medical Cente

Pathology and Lab Medicine provide support for both inpatient and outpatient activities at the Mount Zion hospital and clinics, including surgical pathology, cytology, central laboratory and blood banking services. A major portion of our effort goes towards establishing the correct diagnosis and ensuring appropriate patient care for cancer surgery cases. In addition, a number of our faculty has research labs located at the UCSF Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Services

UCSF Medical Center at Mount Zion has been transformed from a traditional hospital to an innovative hub of specialized clinics and surgery services as well as a center for comprehensive cancer care.

Outpatient Services

Our growing network of outpatient services includes comprehensive diagnostic care, dermatology and adult and pediatric primary care as well as our Surgery Center. In addition, Mount Zion maintains eight operating rooms and a 50-bed inpatient unit.

Cytopathology

The Cytopathology Division of the UCSF Pathology Department is a internationally recognized leader in the field. Most cytopathology staff members are located at Mt. Zion where they oversee a large fine-needle aspiration (FNAB) clinic. The FNAB clinic is open Monday-Friday 9:30 AM-5 PM for palpable masses of all organs, serving UCSF clinics and patients from other hospitals as well as from freestanding physicians offices.
