Mount Zion Medical Center

Pathology and Lab Medicine provide support for both inpatient and outpatient activities at the Mount Zion hospital and clinics, including surgical pathology, cytology, central laboratory and blood banking services.

Veterans Affairs Medical Center

The San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center (SFVAMC) serves as a major tertiary health care referral center for veterans throughout Northern California.

Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital

Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital & Trauma Center (ZSFG), the city and county’s 350-bed acute care hospital is located along Potrero Avenue on a 24-acre campus in the historic mission district, 4 miles east of UCSF Medical Center.

The research, education, and clinical activities of the UCSF Departments of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine are carried out at five major University-affiliated hospitals: Mission Bay, Moffitt-Long, Mt. Zion, Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, and the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Given the size and diversity of the population of the San Francisco Bay area, these academic medical centers provide treatment for an extremely wide range of patients. Consequently, our residents are exposed to the full spectrum of patients and disease conditions on a regular basis.
